Dave Cooper (Eur Ing)

Chairman

Dave Cooper was a founding trustee of the Lift Industry Charity. He is the CEO of UK based lift consultants LECS (UK) Ltd and has been in the lift & escalator industry since he left school in 1980 and is a well-known author and speaker. He is known for his passion for safety and training in the industry. He is a co-author of a number of books including “Elevator & Escalator Accident Reconstruction & Litigation”. He is a regular columnist in trade journals worldwide and wrote the safety column in Elevator World for 28 years between 1994 and 2022. He now writes the safety column for Lift Industry News. He is Chairman of the Lift & Escalator Symposium Educational Trust and is an Honorary Visiting Professor at The University of Northampton specialising in lifts & escalators. In 2021 he was awarded the Sir Moir Lockhead Award by the SOE for 30 years dedication to safety in the lift & escalator industry.

Paul Masterson

Treasurer
Paul has almost 50 years of expertise in the lifts sector and is an experienced Company Director and Senior Manager, in addition to being a qualified Lift Engineer. He is Treasurer of the UK Lift Industry Charity and is a passionate advocate for safety and best practice in the lifts sector.

Reiss Stygal

Secretary
Reiss is the secretary for the Uk Lift Industry Charity. Reiss’s passion to support the Charity became apparent after seeing a close family member become injured whilst working within the industry. With over 13 years experience, Reiss is now an experienced Sales Manager for the largest Uk supplier to the industry.

Lee Dean

Trustee
My expertise is in providing engineering consultancy services for lifts, escalators, moving walks, façade access and mechanical handling. I work largely with facilities managers, property owners, architects, developers as well as solicitors and insurance companies – providing in-depth and accurate assessments and advice on the optimum solutions for their lifts

James Edge

Trustee
James has been a part of the lift industry for over 20 years which has seen him as an engineer, manager and now a company director. Over the years, James has witnessed the hazards of the industry first hand, which drives his commitment to the charity and support for his fellow engineers.

Philip Rudd

Trustee
Philip has over 40 years experience in the industry, starting as a draughtsman with one of the multi-nationals in 1981. After 4 years with a leading Lift, Escalator and Façade Access Consultancy firm, joined Jackson in 1993 and after undertaking various management roles, was appointed to the Board of Directors in 2010
